A nationwide manufacturing group in business for over 50 years is experiencing growth and seeking a talented professional to fill a newly created Senior Accountant role. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the organization. Reporting to the Controller, this Senior Accountant position involves a combination of strategic financial analysis, accounting expertise, and collaboration with various departments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, a deep understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to contribute to the achievement of our financial goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making through variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work closely with various departments to understand business operations and provide financial support.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Support the preparation of federal and state income tax filings.
  • Stay current on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry or public accounting working with manufacturers.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
