Criminal Defense Attorney

Our client, a well-established legal practice specializing in defense litigation, is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with a strong background in criminal defense. This position involves managing a comprehensive caseload that includes both misdemeanor and felony matters. Key duties include court representation, handling DMV-related proceedings, participating in preliminary hearings, and preparing and submitting relevant legal motions.

This is a long-term opportunity offering potential for professional growth within the firm.

Responsibilities

 

  • Represent clients in criminal matters across misdemeanor and felony cases

  • Conduct appearances in court and DMV proceedings

  • Handle preliminary hearings and advocate during key procedural stages

  • Draft and file motions and other legal documents

  • Collaborate with internal teams on case strategy and client advisement


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution

  • Active license to practice law and admission to a U.S. state bar (California preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to draft legal documents and arguments effectively

  • At least one year of experience in criminal defense or similar litigation practices


Preferred Skills

 

  • Familiarity with legal procedures in California

  • Strong administrative and case management capabilities

  • Interest in long-term firm integration and career development


Job Type

Work Arrangement: Hybrid remote, based near Riverside, CA

Compensation: $100,000 to $125,000/yr salary.
